In the world of event planning, visual elements, on-site decoration, and spatial arrangement all significantly impact the success of events. Recent advancements in digital technologies and visual communication have opened new opportunities for organizers to create memorable and immersive experiences.
Interactive Experiences and LED Walls
High-resolution LED walls and interactive digital screens are now the very basic tools you are operating with. These offer real-time interaction and data display, providing spectacular backdrops for presentations, performances, and music shows. A prominent example is the 1,620 m² LED wall in the area of Gangnam, Seoul, installed by Samsung in 2018, which has become an iconic advertising platform for brands like Mercedes, Audi, BMW or even Netflix.
Another exciting concept in Incheon fully immerses visitors into a new world:
Similarly, the Van Gogh exhibition allowed visitors to step into the artist’s mind. The Coldplay concert in Budapest in June also employed genius solutions to create an unforgettable evening. They used screens effectively, ensuring visibility of every detail, and provided programmed, glowing wristbands at the entrance, enhancing the sense of belonging among the audience. The band will be mentioned later in our sustainability section.
Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality (VR, AR, MR)
We have previously covered this significant tool, which is now a staple of experiential events. VR and AR experiences allow visitors to virtually explore exhibitions, watch interactive demos, or discover the event venue playfully. The Van Gogh exhibition is a good example, where attendees could explore and walk in the painter’s world with VR glasses.
Can These Solutions Be Used at Partner Events?
The answer is, yes. This depends on the nature of the event as well as the need of the partner aalong with its’ budget constraints.
In March, we had a partner event where these innovations were effectively applied. Continuous information and instructional videos were displayed on LED screens, and presentations were designed to engage participants. We also installed an interactive device that used AI technology to transform attendees’ photos into images of Vikings, boxers, pilots, astronauts, divas, or casino owners.
Aligning the event venue design and communication is essential for a cohesive and professional outcome. For instance, in a travel campaign with a tropical theme, the venue choice must evoke the right feeling and fit the theme. If not, and the client insists on the venue, we need to assess the additional work required to transform the space. The layout would include creative tools like a VR section to immerse visitors in tropical settings, a jungle installation, an interactive digital space with light shows, and a corner where the sound of waves is continuously played. The food and drink menu would match the theme, and everyone would receive a passport-shaped entry ticket. The invitation would also be like a flight ticket confirmation. The outdoor solutions mentioned at the beginning can be used as complementary tools, enhancing the communication phase. Such details are worth considering.
In our next post, we will continue exploring this topic, covering sustainability aspects as well.
What would your dream event look like? Would you work with the mentioned innovations?
